Starter Membership Part 2

I promised a follow up article to the first one about our Lonsdale Links Starter Membership.  We are into year 2 and I can proudly report the following statistics:

1.       82 Starters commenced in October 2022.  60% are female.

2.      Of those 82, 33 have taken out a membership at Lonsdale Links for the 2023/24 season.

3.      120 Starters commenced in October 2023.  60% are female.

This type of membership is no longer an experiment for us.  With over 200 participants in a little over 12 months, it is one of our largest categories of membership at the Club.  Our PGA Professionals in Matt Rogers & Andrius Belkus are delivering 8 hours of clinics per week to support our Starters on their golfing journey.

The key learning that we have from year 1 is to ensure that we have a membership offer that includes the next membership year for when the Starter Membership concludes.  We offered a 5 month membership (during Autumn and Winter) to align with the start of the next membership year.  I believe we will have a much higher conversion than the 40% we achieved in 2022/23 by having a 17 month offer instead.
